Probably in the same room as did Richard Burton - an adventurer who took part in the discovery of the source of the Nile.
Later in 1888, it was called "Hotel Hesperides" and was directed by the French and then by Paul Michael Charles Metson, an English administrator, who transform it into a real English style Hotel, introducing appropriate improvements.
At that time he stayed among other personalities, such as George Graham-Tolder.
